Hello!

Hello I’m Hana! I’m an illustrator and science communicator. Curiousity, creativity and connection are at the heart of everything I do.

As an illustrator, I bring my background in biology and experience in science communication to every project. I’ve produced illustrations for a range of books, industry publications, logos and more which you can see here.

Former illustration clients include The Royal Institution, Bloomsbury Publishing and the British Ecological Society. In 2021, I was awarded one of The Big Draw’s digital artists’ residencies with a project about the ‘Uncharismatic Critters’ we share our planet with.

I regularly host and present at a range of online and in person events, chairing panel discussions about a wide range of science topics and regularly indulging my love for zoology. I develop and deliver creative workshops and other creative projects, and also run training sessions on various areas of public engagement.

Current and former clients include Festival of the Spoken Nerd, Cheltenham Festivals, the Wellcome Collection, the University of Oxford and the Association for Science and Discovery Centres.

Before going freelance I worked in the following roles:

  • Programming for the Cheltenham Science Festival

  • Working across a range of projects including the British Science Festival at the British Science Association

  • Leading on patient support and recruitment, and dissemination for an international clinical trial at The Alkaptonuria Society

I have a degree in Natural Sciences and Management Studies from the University of Cambridge. During my degree I worked backstage as a producer and director on theatre productions from Shakespeare to pantomime, where I caught the event production bug.
